Siliguri, 05th October: To make sure the people of the Hills are not deceived for votes in the name of Gorkhaland, CPI(M) district secretary Jibesh Sarkar demanded a permanent solution for the Hills before the polls. The statement was made by the leader while addressing the media at Siliguri’s CPI(M) party office on Monday.
It is to be noted, a letter from the Union Home Ministry has already reached the hills requesting a bilateral meeting on Gorkhaland. The state Home Secretary, the Darjeeling District Magistrate, and Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Principal Secretary have been invited to the meeting. A letter has also been sent to the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha‘s Singamari party office on behalf of the Union Home Ministry.
In this context, Jibesh Sarkar stated that a permanent solution should be provided to the troubled hills. He stated that a meeting should be held along with the representatives of all the political parties in the hills.
