Raiganj, 06th October: Voluntary organization People for Animals rescued twelve camels from Raiganj of Uttar Dinajpur district.
Reportedly, the organization received a tip-off regarding camels being smuggled in a lorry. Based on that tip, the Raiganj police detained a lorry at Siliguri More of Raiganj late Tuesday night and rescued the animals. The driver of the lorry has been arrested in the incident.
It is learned that the camels were being transported from Haryana to Malgaon in Kaliaganj. Police are investigating the whole incident.
