People crowd in Siliguri’s markets ignoring lockdown on Sunday

Siliguri, 29th March: Despite the nation-wide lockdown, huge crowds were sighted in Siliguri’s Bidhan Market, Haidarpara, Subhash Pally and many more areas on Sunday morning. As per the report, the people are also not maintaining social distance (a minimum of 1 m) and are in close contact with each other.

Despite the administration urging citizens to stay indoors, several people are still being sighted on the streets, deliberately ignoring the lockdown in Siliguri.

On Saturday evening, the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital confirmed North Bengal’s first COVID-19 positive case after a test report came back positive. After the news, many are demanding an increase in police surveillance during the lockdown period.
