Bagdogra, 23rd March: Unusual death of a passenger returning from Oman has caused a stir at Bagdogra airport. The deceased has been identified as Smrita Pradhan Rai (45), a resident of Mirik.
It has been learned that the woman was a passenger on the Delhi-Bagdogra flight. The flight staff brought her to Bagdogra Primary Health Center around 1 pm on Wednesday, where the doctors declared her dead.
The deceased’s husband Bishal Rai said, “Smrita used to work in Oman. After arriving in Delhi this morning, she informed me that she will land at Bagdogra airport at 11:50 am. Accordingly, I came to the airport, and at around 1 pm, the airport authorities informed that Smrita was sent to Bagdogra Health Center. I immediately reached there and learned about her death.”
The police have started an investigation into the whole incident by sending the body for autopsy.
