Siliguri, 01st February: A passenger car lost control and rammed into a house adjacent to NJP station, on Monday night. An elderly woman from the house luckily survived.
According to local sources, a city auto was heading towards NJP station from Siliguri during which it lost control and rammed into a house on the roadside.
The locals alleged that the driver was intoxicated while driving. After the incident, there was widespread anger among the locals. Meanwhile, the NJP police reached the spot on Tuesday morning, recovered the vehicle, and took it to the police station. The driver of the vehicle was arrested.
On the other hand, the affected family has demanded compensation and appropriate punishment for the driver.
