Parents of students of Siliguri Girls’ Primary School submitted memorandum in protest against changing school uniform

Siliguri, 14th September: Parents of students of Siliguri Girls’ Primary School have once again protested against changing the school uniform. It is to be noted, the state government has taken the decision of changing the uniform of all the schools under their curriculum. Since the decision was announced, parents from different schools with former students have come against it.

Even before this, the parents of Siliguri Girls’ Primary School had submitted a memorandum condemning the decision. Once again the parents submitted a memorandum to the Project Director of the District Rural Development Department.

Parents say that the colour of the uniform should not be changed because the uniform of the Siliguri Girls’ Primary School is 75 years old. The uniform is carrying on the tradition of the school and also symbolizes the school’s heritage that has been going on for decades. They further warned of staging bigger protests if the government does not abide by their demand to keep the school uniform and the tradition alive.
