Opposition leader Amit Jain inspected accident spot at Ward No. 40, raised questions on SMC

Siliguri, 16th December: After the labourer’s death incident in Ward No. 40 of Siliguri, the opposition party has once again taken a jibe against the board of the Municipal Corporation. The opposition party is condemning the SMC for not forming a monitoring committee for the incident.

Today BJP corporator of Siliguri Municipal Corporation and opposition party leader Amit Jain inspected the incident site located at Pranami Mandir Road of Ward No. 40. During this, he blamed the SMC for the said tragic incident.

It is to be noted that this is the second incident in Siliguri that has occurred in 15 days. Amit Jain further said that had it been an early intervention by the SMC in the earlier incident, life would have been saved. He said that a promoter gets the labourer to work only looking for his benefit and added that a monitoring committee of SMC will have to be constituted at the earliest so that no such untoward incident happens again.
