Siliguri, 21st March: In a distressing incident, the officials of Panitanki Outpost apprehended an online food delivery boy on charges of attempted sexual assault of a minor. The arrested accused has been identified as Apurva Talukdar (25), a resident of Dakshin Shanti Nagar.
According to police sources, the accused Apurva developed love affection for a 15-year-old resident of Panitanki Outpost area while committing his job and the relation continued normally for three months.
On Wednesday, the family members of the minor lodged a written complaint at the Panitanki Outpost accusing Apurva of attempted sexual assault of the minor under a love trap. Within few hours of the complaint, the officials of Panitanki Outpost arrested the delivery boy.
On Thursday, the police produced the accused before the Siliguri Court after registering a case under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
