Siliguri, 10th September: A fatal road accident in an area under the jurisdiction of Bagdogra police station claimed the life of an individual, identified as Sanjeev Oraon, a resident of Putimari, Bagdogra.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when Sanjeev was returning home on his motorcycle. After a collision with a woman, while attempting to flee, he lost control and crashed into a cemented pillar, dying on the spot. According to locals, the accident may have been caused by drunkenness.
Upon receiving the information, Bagdogra police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
