Jalpaiguri, 23rd March: A fatal road accident took place late Sunday night near the Teesta Bridge in Jalpaiguri, claiming the life of a motorbike rider after a head-on collision with a four-wheeler.
According to reports, the accident occurred around midnight near the Vivekananda Pally area adjacent to the bridge. The motorbike was reportedly travelling in the wrong direction from Paharpur towards Maynaguri, when it collided with an oncoming four-wheeler.
The rider sustained critical injuries in the crash. He was immediately rescued and taken to Jalpaiguri Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
