One killed, another injured in tragic road accident at Dhupguri

Dhupguri, 12th May: A tragic road accident near Harimandir Para area of Dhupguri claimed the life of one person, while another sustained serious injuries.

According to eyewitnesses, the two individuals were heading towards Dhupguri market on separate bikes. While attempting to overtake a vehicle, the handlebars of the two bikes collided, causing both riders to lose control and fall onto the road. At that moment, a speeding dumper coming from behind ran over one of the individuals, leading to his death on the spot.

Local residents said one of the bikes was carrying goats. They alleged that the dumper’s high speed was the main reason behind the fatal accident.

Upon receiving information, police from Dhupguri police station rushed to the spot and recovered the body, which was later sent for post-mortem examination. The injured person was rescued and admitted to a hospital. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
