One jawan died due to electrocution while filling water at NJP station, four injured

Siliguri, 19th January: A tragic incident has surfaced from the NJP station after a jawan was electrocuted to death while filling water from a tanker while 4 more jawans were reported to be injured. 


Reportedly, on Thursday morning an army rake entered the station to fill water from the water tanker. One of the jawans got down to take the water whereas four more army men were standing on the rake. While boarding a water tanker, the said jawan got electrocuted after coming in contact with an overhead railway line and while trying to save him, four other jawans got electrocuted. The army jawan was rushed to NJP Railway Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. At the same time, four army personnel have been admitted to Bengdubi Army Hospital. 

On getting information about the incident, ADRM Sanjay Chilwarwar went to the spot of the incident which occurred near platform No. 05. The said Army jawans were going from Binnaguri towards Rajasthan and had stopped at the railway station to fill water when the tragedy struck.
