Bagdogra, 08th January: A tea worker sustained serious injuries after he was hit by a passenger bus at Keshtapur More in Bagdogra-Asian Highway, on Saturday afternoon. The injured individual’s name is Mahendra Oraon (24).
After the incident, Oraon was rushed to Bagdogra Hospital and later shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. While the bus driver fled away from the scene, the bus conductor surrendered himself at the Naxalbari police station.
Meanwhile, locals blocked the road protesting against the incident. Upon receiving the news, the Bagdogra police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
