Siliguri, 21st May: In a significant operation, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and the Pradhan Nagar police arrested an individual with brown sugar worth lakhs. The arrested individual has been identified as Rocky Singh, a resident of Dalkhola.
As per details received, on Monday night, the accused Rocky Singh arrived at Siliguri to sell the contraband from Dalkhola. As soon as the incident was reported, the SOG launched an operation in collaboration with the Pradhan Nagar police at the Siliguri Junction. Subsequently, Rocky was intercepted based on suspicion.
During the search, the officials recovered 399 grams of brown sugar from his possession. The estimated market value of the recovered contraband is worth lakhs. Promptly, Rocky Singh was arrested on charges of drug trafficking under the registered case of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. On Tuesday, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court while the entire incident is under further investigation.
