Siliguri, 03rd February: SOG and the cops of Bagdogra police station arrested a man with 300 grams of brown sugar during a joint operation. The accused has been identified as Suman Chhetri.
According to the information, the undercover police of Bagdogra police station, in a joint operation with the SOG, conducted a campaign near Uttora Township late last night. During this, Chhetri was spotted roaming around the area. The police grew suspicious and apprehended him. On searching, 300 grams of brown sugar were recovered from his bag.
As per the information, Chhetri had come to deliver the consignment to someone. But was arrested before he could do so. The Bagdogra police have registered a case against the accused under the NDPS Act and produced him in the Siliguri court today. Police demanded the remand of the accused from the court. The police are probing the entire matter.
