One arrested in animal trafficking bid in Phansidewa, 52 cattle rescued

Phansidewa, 07th March: In a significant operation, authorities of the Phansidewa police station foiled an attempt at animal trafficking, resulting in the rescue of 52 cattle and the arrest of one individual. The suspect, identified as Tabarak Alam, is a resident of Purnia in Bihar.


The operation unfolded on Wednesday night when the Phansidewa police conducted an operation at Muhammad Buxa More of Phansidewa. Acting on intelligence, the officials proceeded to conduct a thorough search when they found 52 cattle loaded onto the vehicle, prompting immediate action.

Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the rescued animals were being transported from Bihar to Assam for the purpose of smuggling. On Thursday, the accused Tabarak Alam was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court for legal proceedings.
