Siliguri, 04th May: In a significant breakthrough, the cops of the Pradhan Nagar police station have arrested an accountant of a bike showroom in Siliguri on charges of swindling Rs 1.5 crore. The arrested accused has been identified as Somnath Bose.
Reportedly, Bose has been working as an accountant in a showroom on Burdwan Road for a long time and won the trust of the owners. During this, it has been alleged that he manipulated bank statements and allegedly resorted to fraud for several months, before suspicion arose.
Subsequently, the showroom owner filed a complaint against Somnath Bose at the Pradhan Nagar police station. Acting swiftly based on the complaint, the police apprehended Bose from the showroom office in Gurung Basti on Friday night.
The arrested accused has been presented before the Siliguri court on Saturday, where remand was sought for further investigation into the case.
