Siliguri, 14th June: Odisha’s renowned and traditional ‘Raja’ festival was celebrated with enthusiasm and cultural splendour in Siliguri on Sunday. The event was organised by the Utkal Sanskrutik Samaj of Siliguri to promote and preserve Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.
The celebration featured a vibrant lineup of cultural programmes, including traditional Odia folk music and dance performances, the popular Raja Dola (swing) activity, and several other engaging events. People of all age groups participated enthusiastically, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee attended the programme as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, she praised the organisers for their initiative and said that such cultural events help strengthen bonds of brotherhood and harmony among people from different communities and states.
According to the organisers, the festival was arranged with the objective of introducing Odisha’s traditions, culture, and heritage to the younger generation. The event concluded with the serving of traditional Odia cuisine to guests and attendees.
