Northeast Railway cancels multiple trains following Agnipath Scheme protests and flood in Assam

Siliguri, 18th June: Army aspirants across the country have been protesting against the Agnipath scheme and on the other hand, floods in Assam have all led to the North East Frontier Railway cancelling multiple of their trains on Saturday.
According to railway officials, due to agitation in Bihar and flood situation in Assam, railway tracks at some locations between Lumding to Rangiya have been damaged. Therefore many passengers cancelled their bookings.
Reportedly, 15909 Dibrugarh to Lalgarh Express, 12523 New Jalpaiguri to New Delhi Express, 12068 Jorhat Town-Guwahati Shatabdi Express, Katihar-Samastipur, and many other trains were cancelled. Meanwhile, numerous passengers are facing inconvenience due to the cancellations.
