North Bengal Business meet 2022 held in Siliguri

Siliguri, 16th February: North Bengal Business meet 2022 was held in Siliguri today in the presence of West Bengal Chief Secretary Hari Krishna Dwivedi. Industrialists, District Magistrates, and officials of various departments from eight districts were also present. An investment proposal of Rs 10,000 crore was put up during the meeting.


Various issues related to industrial investment, construction of industrial taluk in several districts of North Bengal, and problems in North Bengal were discussed.

Hari Krishna Dwivedi said that tourism will be taken further by making homestays in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts. Initiatives will be taken to construct homestays mainly in Cooch Behar, Bankura, Purulia, North and South Dinajpur. The district magistrates of each district have been given that responsibility.


On the other hand, the industrialists raised some issues of roads, electricity, and land. The Chief Secretary assured to look into these issues and solve them. Sector committees are also being formed in each district which will look into various proposals as well as the problems of the industrialists.
