North Bengal Animal Saver Society raises voice against cattle smuggling

Siliguri, 02nd February: Cattle smuggling is on the rise in Bengal, especially along the border areas. North Bengal Animal Saver Society alleged that cattle are constantly being transported in trucks and large vehicles from the city, but the police are not taking any action to curb it.


Addressing a press conference at Siliguri Journalists Club today, the member of the organization Chhotu Pandit said that a memorandum was submitted to the police station several times concerning the issue. But no solution has been observed so far.

He said that members of the organization have seized vehicles along with cattle on the road several times. They demanded strict action against the cattle smugglers. He warned of staging a large demonstration if their demand is not met soon.
