No Horn, Please! Awareness rally organized by Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard Police and school students 

Siliguri, 18th November: Continuous unnecessary honking at traffic points or on the road creates menace and also sound pollution. In view of this, under the aegis of the Junction Traffic Guard of Siliguri Metropolitan and school students, an awareness program was organized today. 


On the initiative of IC Subir Dutta with Siliguri’s Traffic Guard, school students organized an awareness campaign with placards written “No horn please” from Darjeeling More. During this, the students also appealed to the drivers not to honk unnecessarily. Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi, Traffic ADCP Poornima Sherpa, and ACP Shantanu Tarfdar were also present at the rally. 

Speaking on this, the Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Chaturvedi said unnecessary honking in the city causes a lot of harm to the environment creating noise pollution and such an awareness rally has been organized along with school students.


On the other hand, Traffic ADCP Poornima Sherpa said that on the initiative of Junction Traffic Guard, children have taken out an awareness rally which is a good and effective way to prevent sound pollution.
