Darjeeling, 08th August: The 07-day lockdown imposed in the municipal areas of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong and Mirik including all COVID affected areas under the GTA region concludes today.
In this context, Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) Chairman Anit Thapa, on Saturday, announced that the ongoing lockdown will not be further extended. However, the region is being strictly monitored by the administration and if needed, they will announce further lockdowns only in containment zones in the future.
While the Chairman thanked the people in the region for following GTA lockdown strictly for the last 2 weeks, he urged all to follow health guidelines and wear masks at all times.
