‘Lal Baba’ of Bhramari Devi Temple in Bodaganj no more; devotees and locals mourn his death

Rajganj, 26th August: ‘Lal Baba’, a familiar face at the Trishrota Bhramari Devi Temple in Bodaganj under Rajganj Assembly constituency in Jalpaiguri district, passed away on Tuesday night. His death has left devotees and local residents mourning.

Lal Baba earned the name due to the prominent use of the colour red in his clothing and various other items at the temple.

According to local residents, he had devoted himself to serving Goddess Bhramari Devi since the early days of the temple and maintained a close association with the shrine for many years. Devotees and locals also recall several accounts of miraculous incidents associated with him.

He had been bedridden for a long time due to his advanced age. He eventually passed away on Tuesday night.

Known as a devoted long-standing servant of Goddess Bhramari Devi, Lal Baba’s death has left the temple without one of its familiar faces, with devotees and local residents mourning his passing.
