Siliguri, 27th March: On Saturday night, NJP police arrested a youth with firearms and a round of ammunition from Bhalobasha more under NJP police station. The arrested accused has been identified as Debashish Das, a resident of the Simultala area of Matigara.
It has been learned that the youth was seen wandering in the area near Bhalobasha more. An automatic pistol and a round of ammunition were recovered from him after conducting a search operation. Following this, the police arrested him.
According to police sources, the accused had earlier been arrested for various criminal offenses. He was sent to Jalpaiguri court on Sunday.
