Siliguri, 12th August: NJP Police arrested two accused in connection with the theft of gold and cash from a house in Jyotirmoy Colony, Siliguri. The accused have been identified as Sanjay Roy and Ramesh Prasad.
According to police sources, the theft took place on August 1. Following a complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the two accused from the Ambikanagar area on Tuesday.
However, the stolen gold and cash have not yet been recovered. Police have reportedly gathered information about where the stolen items were sold.
The accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. Police are expected to seek their remand and continue efforts to recover the stolen property. The investigation into the case is underway.
