Siliguri, 10th August: The NJP Police arrested a man with 40 kgs of cannabis. The arrested accused has been identified as Sheetal Kumar Roy.
Based on a tip-off, the NJP police launched operations at the Fulbari Jatiyakali area and detained a four-wheeler car. 40 kgs of cannabis were seized after searching the vehicle.
According to police sources, the market value of the recovered cannabis is around Rs 4 lakh. The cannabis was brought to Jatiyakali from Cooch Behar. Police have started investigating whether anyone else is involved in the incident. The arrested individual was sent to Jalpaiguri court on Tuesday.
