Newly constructed bus stand inaugurated in Tufanganj

Cooch Behar, 18th November: The newly constructed bus stand at Tufanganj in Cooch Behar was inaugurated on Friday. Administrative officials including North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha, District Magistrate Pawan Kadian, Cooch Behar Municipality Chairman Rabindra Nath Ghosh inaugurated the bus stand today by cutting the ribbon and furling the green flag. 


The new bus stand has been built in collaboration with the  Department of North Bengal Development. The work of constructing a new bus stand started in the year 2018 at Kalibari Chowpathi of Gram Panchayat No. 02 and Andaran Phulbari under Tufanganj No. Block. The three-storey bus stand has eight parking spaces. From this new bus stand, passengers can travel to various places including Cooch Behar, Basirhat, Alipurduar, Kamakhyaguri, Barobisha, Rampur, Dhalpal Rasikbil.

Speaking in this regard, North Bengal Development Minister Udayan Guha said that the work started during former Minister of North Bengal Development of West Bengal Rabindra Nath Ghosh’s tenure. He added that there was a slight delay in the work due to the pandemic and lockdown, however, the bus stand has finally been opened today. All public and private buses will ply from here.
