Cooch Behar, 04th December: Chaos ensued on Sunday morning in the area of Jamaldaha under the Mekhliganj of Cooch Behar after an NBSTC bus and coal-laden truck caught fire due to a head-on collision between two vehicles injuring several passengers on board.
Reportedly, on Sunday morning the NBSTC bus was heading from Mathabhanga towards Siliguri when the bus collided head-on with a coal-laden truck coming from the opposite direction. The collision was so intense that both the bus and the truck caught fire. Due to this several passengers on board sustained injuries. After the incident, the passengers trapped in the bus were rescued and rushed to Mathabhanga and Mekhliganj hospitals.
On the other hand, as soon as the incident was reported, two fire engines reached the spot and doused the fire. Due to the incident, the traffic on the Mathabhanga-Siliguri road came to a standstill. Police administration officials reached the spot and controlled the situation.
