Navadisha Pathshala re-opens after a long gap in Rajganj

Rajganj, 14th March: After being closed for a long time due to the pandemic, Navadisha Pathshala situated in Milan Pally Outpost re-opened today. The school was inaugurated on Monday by Siliguri Police Commissioner Gaurav Sharma. School uniforms, shoes, bags, and notebooks were handed over to the students.


The said school was formed in 2013 at Milanpally Police Outpost, Rajganj for the children of Teesta Char near Gajoldoba of Mantadari gram panchayat. The children are taught by the police officials themselves and no fee is charged from the students. In addition, they are given free academic materials on behalf of the police. The school remained closed for around two and a half years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. Initiatives have been taken to start the school anew.

ADCP Traffic Purnima Sherpa, ACP Rajen Chhetri, NJP police, and Milanpally Outpost Police were present today during the inauguration.
