Kharibari, 14th February: Earlier in January, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista took stock of the villages located near the border. During his visit, he was approached by Sitaram Singh and Basanti Singh, residents of West Ramdhan of Kharibari. They complained to the MP about not getting houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Within just a month of getting word from the MP who assured them to help build a house, the duo received a cheque of Rs 1 lakh from the MP Fund. Today, the representatives of the MP handed over the cheque to Sitaram and Basanti. They expressed joy and gratitude towards MP Bista. BJP leader and Raniganj Binnabari Mandal President Bholanath Siddha said that the MP has fulfilled his promise.
