MP Raju Bista files a complaint in the police station against the mayor, DM, and health department officials

Siliguri, 25th September: The spread of dengue in Siliguri is constantly surging. In view of this today, MP Raju Bista arrived to inspect Ward No. 5 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. During this, the MP also reached the house of the deceased Twinkle Verma and spoke to her family members. It is to be noted that Twinkle had died of dengue a few days before, the MP reached her residence to pay his respect and give his condolences.


MP Raju Bista expressed displeasure against the Siliguri Municipal Corporation, district administration as well as the Chief Health Officer, and the nursing home where Twinkle was admitted. While expressing his thoughts on the spread of the disease he said that Siliguri is on the verge to become a dengue hub. He further took a jibe against the SMC, the District Administration, and the Chief Health Officer for not bringing the situation under control.

The MP also alleged health department is engaged in concealing the number of dengue deaths instead of dengue prevention. At the same time, he further alleged that Twinkle Verma died due to negligence of the administration and Nursing Home. Due to this, they filed a written complaint today at Siliguri police station alleging negligence in the name of Nursing Home, Mayor, DM, and Chief Health Officer. Speaking on this Darjeeling District MP said that Siliguri’s Mayor should resign from his post if he is not been able to work for the welfare of the people. Only those who have courage and zeal will work for the betterment. Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh, Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anadamoy Barman along with BJP workers was present on this occasion.
