Siliguri, 22nd January: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista campaigned in support of Julie Tamang, the BJP candidate for Ward No. 41 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The MP interacted with the ward residents this morning and heard their grievances. The locals of the area raised the issue of drinking water facilities and problems caused due to the dumping ground.
“If the people will give us the chance of five years, we will solve all the problems,” Raju Bista assured. Also, he stated that the postponement of the SMC election is like a blessing of God to the party as they will get enough time for election campaigning.
It is to be noted, the municipal corporation election was earlier announced to be held on January 22. However, in view of the covid situation in the state, the polls have been postponed to February 12.
“The BJP will definitely capture the municipal corporation,” Bista added.
