Kharibari, 02nd March: In a recent development, the team of Special Operations Group (SOG) and Kharibari police station apprehended a mother-daughter duo on charges of smuggling banned cough syrup. The arrested accused have been identified as Nurun Begum (60) and Khawsari Begum (43), residents of the Gandagol Jote area.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, the SOG and Kharibari police launched an operation in Kharibari’s Shibu Jote area and arrested the two women. During the search, the officials recovered 115 bottles of banned cough syrup from their possession prompting the arrest.
On Saturday, the accused duo was produced before the Siliguri Court. At present, the Kharibari police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
