Siliguri, 04th November: 23-year old youth named Haradhan Mandal was electrocuted to death while he was installing lights for Diwali in the Suryasen Colony Pipeline area of Siliguri. Two BJP MLAs Shankar Ghosh and Shikha Chatterjee met the mourning family on Thursday.
It is to be noted that Haradhan Mandal was a resident of NJP Gate Bazar. His father passed away a few years ago. They have a small tea shop which is looked after by his mother. Reportedly, Haradhan and his younger brother Nilratan went to install lights at a residence in the said area. Haradhan was severely injured after being electrocuted by a high tension wire. While being taken to the Siliguri District Hospital, the ambulance carrying Haradhan got stuck in a traffic jam. By the time the traffic cleared, he succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident, two BJP MLAs Shankar Ghosh and Shikha Chatterjee met the family today. Chatterjee expressed her condolences to the family and said that cause of death will be investigated.
