Missing girl found dead in Siliguri: BJP takes out a protest rally demanding immediate arrest of accused

Siliguri, 15th December: An atmosphere of gloom has gripped Siliguri ever since the recovery of a 12-year-old’s body who had been missing since December 05 after she left home for her school. The 6th grader’s disfigured body was recovered from the Sukna forest on Tuesday evening. Following this, tension has sparked across the city in demand for the immediate arrest of the accused who still remains at large.


Different political parties and groups have been raising their voice demanding the arrest of the accused. In view of this, once again, today BJP took out a protest rally demanding the arrest of the accused. The members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Siliguri District Organisation today took out the said rally from Hashmi Chowk and circumambulated various areas of the city and concluded at the same spot. The rally was led by District President and Matigara-Naxalbari MLA Anandamoy Barman.

In this regard, MLA Anandamoy Barman said that the police have not been able to trace and arrest the main accused despite several days have passed by since the incident. He alleged of failure of the police and demanded strict action and severe punishment for the guilty.
