Siliguri, 19th February: Sensation prevailed after an incident surfaced where miscreants indulged in theft by cutting the tin roof of a hardware store located on Sevoke Road in Siliguri.
As per reports, on Monday morning, as the store was opened, the owner and the staff were baffled by the incident. The miscreants entered the store through the roof and made way with cash from the cash box, mobile phone, and other valuables.
After the incident, the store owner filed a written complaint of theft at the Bhakti Nagar police station. Upon receiving the news, Ward Councilor Shivika Mittal, Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, and Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar arrived at the spot, took stock of the situation, and spoke to the businessman. The officials instructed the police to nab the thieves as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
