Miscreants fled after snatching money bag from a woman in Siliguri, investigation underway

Fulbari, 16th September: In a shocking incident, two miscreants absconded after snatching a money bag from a woman in the DS Colony area of Siliguri.


As per reports, on Friday afternoon, Babita Roy and Sheela Dubey, both residents of Ram Nagar Basti near Gora More area of Fulbari I Gram Panchayat, were returning home by toto (e-rickshaw) after withdrawing Rs 60,000 from a bank in NJP area. During this, two miscreants came from behind, on a bike, forcibly snatched the money bag in the DS Colony area, and fled from the scene.

As claimed by the owner, the bag already had Rs 20,000 and an additional Rs 60,000 rupees was withdrawn from the bank. A total of Rs 80,000 kept in the bag was allegedly looted by the robbers. In this regard, the victim Babita Roy narrated about the incident and stated that her son had been ill for a long time and the stolen money was withdrawn for his treatment.


After the incident, on Friday evening, a complaint was filed at the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station. Currently, police are investigating the entire incident.
