Miscreants assault woman and make way with cash and jewellery in Fulbari

Siliguri, 21st March: An incident of brazen theft surfaced where miscreants assaulted a woman and made way with valuables in Fulbari-II Gram Panchayat area. Additionally, the miscreants broke into five more residences of Rajiv Nagar, Fulbari Super Market and Gathmabari areas.


According to reports, on Wednesday night, 60-year-old Evarani Mandal and her husband Mani Mohan Mandal, resident of Rajiv Nagar area of Fulbari were sleeping in separate rooms on the second floor of the three-storey building. During this, the miscreants scaled up to the second floor, broke the door, entered inside and allegedly assaulted the woman, and looted gold jewellery and cash. Further, the miscreants also took the jewellery worn by the woman. Upon hearing the scream, the neighbours gathered.

Additionally, the miscreants also attempted theft in another house located in Rajiv Nagar, Super market and Gathmabari areas where no valuables were looted however the household items were damaged.


Upon receiving the news, the officials of NJP police station arrived at the spot on Thursday morning. Apart from speaking to the residents, the police officials are engaged in efforts to access the CCTV footage of the area.
