Siliguri, 28th May: A notorious thief, identified as Rohan Chettri, who is a resident of Darjeeling has been arrested by the police. Rohan, a wanted miscreant in police records, was allegedly involved in various cases related to theft. According to information, Rohan was addicted to drugs, following which, to fulfill his needs he started indulging in theft.
Reportedly, an incident of theft took place between the 15th and 17th of May in a vacant house in the Khaprail area under Matigara Police Station. Later, when the occupants reached home on the 23rd of May, they discovered the incident. Subsequently, the family lodged a complaint at Matigara police station on the same day.
Acting immediately on the basis of the complaint, the police who were involved in the investigation arrested the accused Rohan Chhetri on the 24th of May. In addition, while the accused was on 5 days’ remand, following the interrogations, police also recovered numerous stolen items. Today, after the completion of the remand period, the accused was once again produced before the Siliguri Court.
