Fulbari, 06th August: Sensation prevailed after the lifeless body of a minor was found hanging from the noose in Sipai Para area of Fulbari II Gram Panchayat (GP) adjacent to Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Pratik Barman (13), a student of 7th standard.
Local sources revealed that the teen was playing in the yard after waking up early on Sunday morning. Following this, the family members spotted his hanging body near the temple of the house. It is anticipated that the incident might have taken place while the minor was engaged in playing.
Upon receiving the news, the authorities of the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) police station immediately arrived at the scene and recovered the body. Subsequently, the deceased body was transported to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for autopsy. At present, police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the incident.
