Bagdogra, 23rd September: State Labour Minister Malay Ghatak held a meeting with the workers of Tirhana tea garden in Bagdogra before leaving for Dooars. During this, Minister of State for Backward Classes Welfare and Tribal Department Bulu Chik Baraik, Public Health and Technology Minister Pulak Roy, District Magistrate S Ponnambalam, Surendra Gupta, and others were present.
On this occasion, Labor Minister Malay Ghatak said that tea garden workers will be given identity cards and salary accounts from today. Keeping in mind the workers of Tirhana, arrangements have been made to set up a health treatment center.
Labour Minister Malay Ghatak said that an ambulance will be made available to take a patient out for availing different health facilities. He also assured that all tea workers would be provided potable water at home and the work to make it avail would start after Durga Puja.
