Minister Goutam Deb extended a helping hand to all excluded Durga Puja committees

Siliguri, 25th September: The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb, on Friday, held two wide-ranging discussions with various Durga Puja committees in Siliguri.

Reportedly, 46 puja committees under SMC’s 47 wards and 20 puja committees in Dabgram and Fulbari have not been granted permission to organize puja this year.

In this context, Minister Goutam Deb stated that since these puja committees do not have any government permission, they are likely to be deprived of all facilities. As a solution, he asked them to directly contact him regarding the support. He further assured of trying his optimum level to help them in this regard as well as receive all government facilities.

He further said that all the puja committees are suffering from a financial crisis due to the ongoing pandemic. In view of this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her helping hand and stated that each Puja committee will be given Rs 50,000. He said that efforts are being made to provide the financial grant to all big and small committees.
