Siliguri, 15th October: The Mela Hawkers Welfare Association, as well as the All India Fair Merchant Welfare Association, submitted a 7-point memorandum to the SDO.
Reportedly, no fairs have been allowed in the city for the past several months in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, as things are gradually returning to normal in the unlock phase, both the organizations demanded the resumption of fairs during the festive days.
The members of the organization said that their families are living in severe crisis as they have no means to earn a living at the moment. Hence, they submitted a memorandum to the SDO today. Several other demands were also presented through the memorandum.
