Siliguri, 13th December: A meeting will be organized at the North Bengal University by the Vice-Chancellor of the university. The said meeting will seek detailed information from the Vice-Chancellor in regard to the land privatisation of the university. The announcement was made today by Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh during a press conference at the MLA’s office located at Ward No. 24 of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
The Vice-Chancellor said that there has been confusion concerning the transfer of the land of the university for the past several weeks. Hence, full details of the agreement will be stated in front of everyone in the said meeting. Based on this, any further steps will be taken only after getting approval from everyone.
The meeting will also take the questions from the students, alumni and anyone from the university to clear any doubts. He also said that earlier it was planned to give land to set up the Hotel Management Department. During this, opposition leader of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Amit Jain and councillor of Ward No. 4 Vivek Singh were present.
