Siliguri, 07th January: Vaccination for Measles-Rubella will start in Siliguri from January 09 in every government and private school. Speaking in this regard, Darjeeling District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam addressed the media at the office of Siliguri Mahakuma Parisad and informed about the complete vaccination process.
As per the information, the vaccination process will be carried out in about 1,215 schools including government and private schools in the Siliguri subdivision. After the completion of the school-based vaccination process, vaccination camps will be held in local community halls. It will also be available in Block Health Centers including Siliguri District Hospital.
Furthermore, the District Magistrate clarified that door-to-door vaccination will not be done. He said that there is a target to cover about 2 lakh 63 thousand children in Siliguri division area under this vaccination drive. It is to be noted, the vaccination drive will also start in the hills on February 15.
