Siliguri, 22nd January: Another incident of fire affected Siliguri’s Ward No. 1 Dharmanagar area on Saturday morning, leaving several families homeless and affected.
Today Mayor Goutam Deb visited and inspected the fire-affected area. Along with this, the Mayor also met the families of the victims. After this, he talked to Ward Councilor Sanjay Pathak. During this, Mayor Goutam Deb said that this is an accidental incident that burnt several houses to ashes. He further said that he was out of town yesterday but he called the deputy mayor and the ward councillor to inquire about the incident.
Mayor Goutam Deb said that he would meet the DM and talk about helping the people whose life has been gravely affected in the fire. He further assured of helping the affected people as much as possible.
