Matigara Double Murder Case Update: Accused sent to 8 days police remand

Siliguri, 16th September: The accused of the double murder-rape case in Matigara has been taken into police remand for eight days.


Mohammad Akhtar Hussain, the prime accused in the double murder case in Matigara was produced in Siliguri court today. The police sought remand from the court to conduct an in-depth investigation into the case. Following this, the court directed to keep the accused on police remand for eight days.

Meanwhile, the government lawyer Sudip Roy Basunia said that the accused in the double murder case was produced in court today. Following this, the court has sent the accused on 8-day police remand for questioning.


It is to recall, earlier this month, the body of a woman was recovered near Paribahan Nagar in Matigara. Mohammad Akhtar Hussain was arrested in connection to the incident. During interrogation, Hussain informed the police that he had killed his lover four months ago and buried her body behind a warehouse near Matigara Railgate. Following this, Matigara police reached the spot and recovered the body after digging the ground.
