Naxalbari, 11th July: A Mathematics and Science Fair was organised at Naxalbari Sarada Vidyamandir with the aim of promoting scientific thinking among students and encouraging interest in mathematics and science.
West Bengal Minister of State Anandamay Barman and ISRO scientist Sharmistha Bhattacharya Pandey were present at the science fair. Students displayed various models based on mathematics and science as part of the exhibition.
Teachers from different schools attended the event as judges for the fair. A total of 472 students participated in the fair and presented 226 models, while 246 additional models were displayed on other subjects.
The Head Acharya of Naxalbari Sarada Vidyamandir, Sujit Das, said that the practical aspects of mathematics and science were showcased through various models. He added that such initiatives would increase students’ interest in science and encourage them to contribute towards human welfare and space research.
Meanwhile, ISRO scientist Sharmistha Bhattacharya Pandey said that India is hopeful of having its own space station by 2040. She added that the proposed space station would play an important role in addressing various challenges faced on Earth.
