Siliguri, 07th August: West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose visited Siliguri District Court on Friday for a courtesy meeting with lawyers and court staff. He reached the court while returning from Cooch Behar and held discussions with the lawyers present there on various important issues.
During the meeting, lawyers placed several demands before the Speaker, including the construction of a new court building and the proposal to make Siliguri a separate district, along with other issues.
Speaking on the matter, Speaker Rathindra Bose said, “Several proposals have been placed before me. However, my area of responsibility is different, i am neither a minister nor directly a part of the government. Still, if possible, I will try to convey these issues to the concerned authorities.”
